Ministries
Pastor Rev. Gord Horsley & his wife Kate
Pastor Gord and Kate have ministered for the Lord for over 30 years. They have been involved in missions, youth pastoring, inner healing, deliverance, prayer counseling & church planting. Their hearts are for the broken-hearted and those who need Jesus. “Religion is not where it’s at…it’s about a relationship with Christ and seeing people truly touched by God”. Gord is the Senior Pastor of the Fellowship in Shelburne and is also the founder of Abiding Place Ministires. Kate moves in the prophetic and intercession, she also has a heart for worship,and brings wisdom and balance to the leadership of the ministry.
Leadership Team
The men and woman of Abiding Places Ministries leadership team love the Lord with all their hearts and seek to serve Him and the Fellowship with great humility and love.The leadership is made up of people from different back grounds, cultures and vocations, all filled with the Spirit of God and flowing in the gifts of Holy Spirit. They follow the leading of the Lord with great excitement and expectation in what the Lord has done and is doing in Abiding Place through their leadership.
Children’s Ministry
Our Children’s leaders, are loving and very caring, they want to impact the kids with the love of Jesus, so they can make a difference in their generation. This generation needs to understand the Father’s love for them, and understand they are very special. Our leaders inspire to do just that. Children’s Church is fun and interactive, with music, games, drama, and crafts, as they learn about God, his Son, and Holy Spirit. We also encourage them to love one another. We teach them about the gifts of the Spirit and allow the children to move in them; it’s not just hearing about it, it’s about living in the flow of Holy Spirit.
Worship Team
Our worship team, lead by a variety of worship leaders is very sensitive to the leading of Holy Spirit. They bring a mix of hymns and contemporary songs and music that draw the congregation into the presence of God so we worship the Lord in spirit and in truth, which allows transformations and healings to take place. Worship at Abiding Place is very important and vital, it brings the tangeable presence of God into our lives and our service.
Women’s Ministry
Our women’s ministry welcomes women of all ages and stages of life to grow in their knowledge of God, understanding of the scripture and relationship with Christ. We believe at Abiding Place Fellowship that building relationship with Christ and one another is important. We desire to bring women together in various ways to help them develop deeper relationships.
Men’s Ministry
Men’s ministry is important to Abiding place. Having men dedicated to the Lord is very important, not only for the fellowship but to families as well. Strong spiritual men in the home builds strong loving families, which builds integrity and a good and moral society. Men’s ministry is all about relationship and standing by each other to help encourage each other in the things of the Lord.
Legion Ministry
Rev. Gord Horsley is the Padre in the Legion of Shelburne, Branch #220. He meets weekly with the veterans of Dufferin County to encourage them and have a few laughs over coffee. He also ministers to the members of branch #220 if they need a listening ear, hospital visits or funerals; and has the privilege, along with the president of the legion, to lead legion services such as Remembrance Day and other celebrated events.
Senior’s Ministry
Our Seniors ministry is very important to Abiding Place; some folks from the Dufferin Oaks call Abiding Place Fellowship their home church, and it is such a blessing to have them be a part of us. Pastor Gord also leads devotions in the Oaks once a week, takes turns with other clergy in the Oaks’ church services, and functions as a Chaplain for many other needs in the Oaks.
